    My Family loves food. The matriarch of our family, Nagymama (Grandma), is from Hungary which I’ve always found to be rather poetic. Family gatherings were always centred around meal times. There were always potato salads, vienna sausages with mustard, and devilled eggs ready to eat; and while this was delicious, it also brought a real danger. It formed habits from a young age in this culture of amazing food; food was to be eaten and enjoyed, but to not have every part of the feast meant missing out!
    Predictably, most of the fam has struggled with weight - A family member, an accountant based in the CBD, has had challenges. Seeing him go through different diets and training regimes, with a wildly fluctuating waistline was heart-breaking.
    It caused me to think: Surely there were other people out there, people who were focused on succeeding in their career and had to make compromises with their health and diet to get ahead, that needed help managing their diet!
    What option was there for people with zero time in the mornings who actually wanted to look after their bodies? Or even someone who wanted a snack that was filling, healthy, and actually tasted good
    The answer was a resounding NONE. 
    As an Exercise Scientist, this was unacceptable - So I made one
    Pro.G.I. is a delicious, nutritious, convenient, and most importantly, evidence-based protein ball. It tastes amazing, is SO easy to grab-and-go, really is good for you and crucially, we have the science to verify it all.
    Pro.G.I. isn’t merely something to munch, but something to really chew on (ha) - it comes with all the proof you could ever need to trust that when you eat Pro.G.I., you eat goodness with a clear conscience.

    What does Pro.G.I. mean?

    The meaning of Pro.G.I. is deeper than you might think. There are multiple layers:

    • Pro stands for Protein predominantly, but also is short for “professional”. Coming from a strength and conditioning background as an exercise scientist, a professional athlete is considered the best of the best. Taking inspiration from that idea, the Pro in Pro.G.I. also represents a vision to be the best of the best in the protein nutrition field.
    • G.I. stands for Glycaemic Index, a fantastic rating scale that classifies dietary sources of carbohydrates based on the quantity and speed of carbohydrate delivery. On a much less significant note, GI is the scientific shorthand often used for Gastro-Intestinal Tract in scientific literature, which is great because that's were Pro.G.I. works best (duh!)
    • The last meaning of Pro.G.I. lies in the pseudo-homonymic potential of Pro.G.I. - It sounds like Low G.I., or having a low rating on the Glycaemic Index. This is an advantageous category of carbohydrate that suggests a long-lasting, slow release of energy, which is amazing for preventing energy crashes and spikes - a characteristic that Pro.G.I. makes full use of and identifies with greatly!

    This heart and name gives Pro.G.I. an amazing foundation to say NO to compromising your nutrition for your career, and YES to having it all!
